André Kuipers presents Beyond, Ode to the Earth.
On a 22-meter wide film screen in the Ziggo Dome Amsterdam, André Kuipers shows the infinite beauty of our earth, seen from space through the eyes of an astronaut. With unique images from space, accompanied by music from world-famous composer Vangelis, and a special contribution by DJ Armin van Buuren, Beyond is an enchanting experience for young and old.
André & Vangelis
Vangelis, the famous Greek musician, composer, songwriter and producer was a good friend of André. They worked together on the film until his death in 2022. Beyond contains no fewer than forty tracks from Vangelis’ rich oeuvre that spans six decades.
André: ‘During my second space mission I met Vangelis for the first time via a digital meeting. Vangelis played the piano for me and I let him enjoy my incredible view of the Earth from space. A warm friendship developed.’
André & Armin van Buuren
Armin van Buuren produced a new single especially for Beyond, inspired by Vangelis’ track Pulstar. This will be released on September 27th.
André: ‘I exercised in space to Armin’s energetic music. As a pioneer of electronic music, Vangelis was a great source of inspiration for Armin. In addition to being a hymn to our planet, Beyond has also become a posthumous tribute to Vangelis.’
